Signs your door needs a technician
- The door is heavy to lift by hand or slams down when released
- It opens unevenly, with one side higher than the other
- You hear grinding, squealing or a loud bang from the springs
- A cable has frayed, snapped or come off its drum
- The door reverses before it reaches the floor
- Daylight shows along the bottom or sides when it is closed
If a spring or cable has broken, stop using the door and keep cars and people clear. The door can drop without warning.
