Why springs break
Springs do the heavy lifting, not the motor. Every open and close cycle fatigues the steel, and in coastal suburbs salt air speeds up corrosion. Eventually a spring snaps, often with a loud bang, and the door becomes too heavy for the opener to lift.
Please do not attempt this yourself
Garage door springs store enough energy to cause serious injury. Adjusting or replacing them needs proper winding bars and training. If you suspect a broken spring, disconnect the opener, leave the door closed and call us.
What we do
- Match the spring to your door's weight and size
- Replace springs in pairs where the door uses two, so they wear evenly
- Check and replace frayed lift cables and worn drums
- Rebalance the door so the opener is not overworked
